WHO IS CHRISTY MAZ?
The name Christy Maz was born from a desire to personify the brand (think Ann Taylor Loft or Betty Crocker vibes) I wanted to create a brand that could speak to women at different stages of their lives, recognizing that while what you wear at 50 may differ from 40, yet the core needs and desires of wanting to feel a certain way remain the same.
Christy Maz is who you need her to be. A way for every woman to relate to no matter which lifestage you are in. At its core, the name honors my sister Christy, who is 52, and MAZ are my late mother’s initials, so I pushed the two names together-making it a deeply personal yet universal representation.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
And who am I? Well, I’m Cookie, a 45-year-old go-getter and Creative Executive who’s worked at networks like MTV, Yahoo, Ellen Digital, Discovery+, Rotten Tomatoes, AOL and more. I wasn’t seeing a lot of unscripted shows being greenlit featuring women, 40s and 50s+. I kept wondering why?
I was talking to my sister, Christy, about how we both felt left out by what’s available for women our age. Even though our lives are totally different, we kept asking the same questions—where are our shows, where are our clothes, and why isn’t anyone talking to us?
That’s why I created the Christy Maz Network, It exists to give women, like us and our mother (Maz are my deceased mom’s initials) a space where we feel seen, with shows and styles that make us feel confident and empowered.
